Happy Canada Day!

Hey guys, I know you wanted me to write something that was a contribution to your friends – so I thought I would share something I’m an absolute expert in – FAILURE!!!

It’s been a turbulent year for me to say the least, and I want to share a few things I learned (the hard way):

There’s no such thing as failure.

It’s strictly a human idea. A lion doesn’t have to go to therapy after losing its prey – it tries again.

I failed so much this year that I thought about quitting at least 200 times (a day). What kept me going is a great team and knowing that failure is almost a 1:1 ratio with success.

I should stop nodding my head when I’m pretending to listen to people.

I often agreed to things that I had no intention of agreeing to. I annoyed a lot of people this way. I’m now practicing really saying back what the person I’m speaking to just said to me.

Keep your promises no matter what you’re feeling.

I can’t trust my feelings! They’re up one moment and down the next. My promises exist in reality – honouring them gives me peace and power (just like you promised, Scott!).

Listening to someone is the best gift you can give them.

I’m really trying to understand how the world occurs for others. I’m practicing listening to people like they hold the answer to their own problems. People end up solving their own issues and are happier with that answer than anything I could have given them.

And after many failed attempts over the last 5 months to produce a great marketing video – here’s another failed attempt (LOL):
